In Victoria, riders under 13 may ride on a footpath. A rider aged 13 or older may ride there only while supervising a rider under 13, holding the required medical certificate, supervising a medically exempt rider, or performing postal work. The baby-seat or pedalling-attachment exception requires the rider to be 18 or older.
Converted e-bikes, meaning pedal bikes modified with an electric motor, controller and battery, are banned from trains and public transport ticketing areas in Victoria, even if a bicycle mechanic carried out the conversion.
